“I can guarantee this won’t be used for an Umiat road,” said DOT spokeswoman Meadow Bailey. Bailey said the proposed road is a far-off prospect, and extracting gravel for it now makes little sense. In fact, there’s been no decision on where the Road to Umiat would start. It may spur off the Dalton Highway at Galbraith Lake — stretching about 100 miles to Umiat — or it may start at two other points along a 200-mile stretch of the highway, according to an environmental landscape rocks houston impact statement the Army Corps is currently working on for the state, Bailey said.

Bethlehem SteelStacks gravel lots being paved in time for Musikfest
The parking lot paving benefits not only ArtsQuest but Northampton Community College, the Steel Ice Center, the upcoming National Museum of Industrial History and other future site development, Hanna said. The authority is considering using some of the remaining TIF fund to pay for improvements at the nearby former Steel Iron Foundry, which if developed would be helped by the nearby parking lots, he said. Its something not only to help ArtsQuest with their immediate needs but to stimulate development, Hanna said. The redevelopment authority held off on paving the lots when it constructed other SteelStacks amenities in 2011 because the gravel lots had once been eyed for development, Hanna said.

Gravel Roads Injuring Amish Horses In Daviess County
The Amish in Daviess County say changes to the gravel roads have been injuring their horses. Daviess County Commissioners are pouring new gravel roads in hopes they can prevent further injury to Amish horses. Daviess County Highway Supervisor Phil Cornelius says the commissioners have been told that gravel used for many country roads has been getting stuck in horses hoofs, which can bruise the hoof or even cause the animal to become lame. We have been using the same size stone ever since Ive been here, which would be roughly 24 years, Cornelius says. Its just recently come to light because weve tried to add more rock on our roads in the last 2 years, so were getting more stone up on top rather than being embedded in the earth. To remedy the problem, county workers started pouring new gravel this week.

The effect is almost surreal, as if you’re floating among the clouds, sharing space with the city’s tall buildings. Bedding is in dreamworthy neutrals, and for bibliophiles, there are sleek reading lamps embedded in the headboard that flip out with a gentle touch. But who wants to read when there’s so much to see outside? And, even easier — and certainly faster — than shopping online, there’s direct dial to the hotel’s neighbor, Neiman Marcus. (Hello?

Fatal Vows: The adulterous husband who tried to frame his son – The Burleson Case
Tyonne was just one of several women he had been fooling around with. She decided to call it quits after finding him having sex with a choir member in the pastors study. She packed her bags and moved out of the house they lived in, but she owned. Frustrated parishioners heard the story, and asked church officials to have Burleson removed as pastor of the 93-year-old church. The sex scandal was only a footnote in light of what happened next. On May 12, 2010, New Mount Cavalry members woke up to learn that their church was on fire.

Turning onto the street of the home, one could see both sides lined with dozens of people, two dozen or more holding flags, and cheering the Krolls arrival. As they got out the Suburban, and realized just how many people were present, they were overwhelmed. Calling the gathering, awesome, Kroll said he never thought he would see something so amazing. He expressed appreciation for everything everyone has done, and all before he had even been in the house.

Palestinian passports rejected by citizens
This of course is not an area for which I feel sorry for him, but I have to admit to wondering how the heck someone with so little education who sits behind a desk tapping on computer keys can earn so much money. But then again, I dont know what Snowden did with the NSA so I must suppress my nature to want to conclude his worth. The reporter with whom Snowden is working and who originally broke the NSA leaks story, Guardian columnist Glenn Greenwald, told the Argentinean daily La Nacion in an interview published Saturday, “Snowden has enough information to cause more harm to the U.S. government in a single minute than any other person has ever had in the history of the United States.” In the history of the United States? If what Greenwald said is true, thats a heavy cross for anyone to bear. I certainly wouldnt want to bear it.

Assange: Canceling Snowden’s passport a ‘disgrace’

Photo: Reuters/Mohamad Torokman RAMALLAH Becoming a citizen of a country ordinarily comes with a passport. Last year, the United Nations recognized Palestine as a non-member state, but many of its citizens say it doesnt make traveling easier. The Palestinian passport, which was issued in 1995 and was based on the Oslo Accords reached between the Israeli government and the Palestinian Liberation Organization, is essentially a travel document and does not stipulate that its owner is a citizen of Palestine. The document’s cover reads “the Palestinian Authority,” not “Palestine.” While Palestinians have changed the formal letterhead on many of their official documents from “the Palestinian Authority” to “Palestine,” they continue to hold Palestinian Authority (PA) passports because Israel does not recognize the name Palestine. The PA passport is available to any individual who can present a birth certificate showing he/she was born in Palestine; he/she must also hold a current Palestinian identity card. All Palestinians residing in the areas under PA rule are entitled to a Palestinian Authority passport. However, those Palestinians living in East Jerusalem, which Israel annexed in 1967, can only hold a laissez-passer, the travel document issued to them by Israel. If they wish to travel to Arab countries that don’t recognize Israel, they usually apply for a temporary Jordanian passport.
